🟣 "30 reps for toning" and other BS
Your body isn't a vending machine
Hey there, my sexy little soufflé!
Time to call out some fitness nonsense AGAIN!
Whenever you hear advice like…
"30 reps will tone your muscles!"
"Eat 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking for FAT BURNING MODE!"
"Do this one weird trick to melt belly fat!"
It sounds convincing, right?
Simple, easy to understand and take action on.
But there’s just one teeeeny tiny problem…
It’s all BS.
When I first started my fitness journey, I fell for ALL of this stuff.
I'd set alarms to eat protein at exact times, count my reps like I was Rain Man, and do more crunches than a cereal factory.
The result? I was tired, hangry, and definitely not seeing the promised six-pack.
Now I know better.
And I’ve been lucky enough to reach millions of people to hopefully help them know better as well.
So here’s what I want you to know…
The cock wombles who share this style of BS advice act like your body is a computer.
You click this button or type these keys and you get this response.
Which is total bullshit.
The unsexy truth is change comes from a cocktail of factors:
Sleep
Stress
Diet
Exercise
It's not sexy. It won't fit in a TikTok. But it works.
So the next time you see a hyper-specific claim that sounds too good to be true, trust your gut (and maybe give it a skeptical side-eye).
Big love,
Rachel 🥰
