šŸŸ£ Are you afraid of the dark?

my own ā€œhorrorā€ story

Well hello there my bewitching little butternut squash! šŸŽƒ

Spooky season has arrived!

Now, I don't know where you are on the halloween horror scale.

Maybe you're the type who watches Hocus Pocus through your fingers and thinks Casper the Friendly Ghost is pushing it a bit far.

Your idea of Halloween decorating is sticking a lonely pumpkin by the front door (uncarved, because knives are scary).

Or perhaps you're the other end of the spectrum - The type who thinks The Exorcist is a bit tame and watches horror films to relax before bedtime.

And turning your house into a proper horror show that makes the neighbours call the police.

Since fear is in the air (along with the smell of pumpkin spice everything), I wanted to share my own ā€œhorror storyā€ with you today...

I used to have anxiety so bad I'd have daily panic attacks.

For 12 whole years.

It was proper messy business.

But here's the plot twist that'll knock your socks off...

That same anxiety is exactly what built Henley Fitness.

It's what got me picking up dumbbells (though I held them like they might explode).

And it's what taught me to do things when I'm scared.

Because here's the thing about fear:

It's not going anywhere.

Those butterflies in your stomach?

That voice telling you you're not ready?

The urge to leg it and hide under your duvet?

Theyā€™re going nowhere.

Thatā€™s why itā€™s so important for you to learn to do things despite being scared.

Want to know what that looks like in real life?

It's walking into the gym even when your legs are shaking like a washing machine on a spin cycle.

It's trying that first barbell squat even though you feel about as graceful as a giraffe on roller skates.

It's adding another plate to your deadlift even when your brain's having a proper meltdown about it.

See, the gym might be meeting-your-partner's-parents-for-the-first-time scary.

But it's also the place where proper life changing things can happen.

Because the little wins you have on the gym floor donā€™t stay there.

They carry over into every area of your life.

All because you learned to do it scared.

Want us to show you the way?

Weā€™ll all welcome you with open arms, dirty jokes, and all the encouragement you need to feel right at home!

Big love,

Rachel šŸ„°
