🟣 I was a boozy beeeatch
but not any more! [here’s why 👇]
Well hello my raunchy little rum truffle,
Ever noticed how drinking alcohol isn’t a conscious decision a lot of the time?
You pour a glass of wine because it’s Friday and your partner suggested it.
You accept the shot because everyone else is doing it.
You top up your glass because it’s almost empty, not because you even want more.
Next thing you know you’re upside down in a bush trying to find your shoes as you flash your bits to the bustling town centre.
Then you wake up the next day with a soul crippling fear.
You scroll JustEat underneath your duvet.
Fill up your basket with the McDonalds Menu.
And go back to sobbing uncontrollably as the memories from last night flash in your mind.
Now, I know this isn’t every drinking experience.
And I want to be clear that I am not judging anyone for drinking.
It aches my tits to the core when someone who’s stopped drinking getting all high and fucking mighty about it.
I mean, I let this guy draw a fucking beard on my face with a sharpie the last time I was drunk…
So I’m in no position to judge anyone.
The truth is, I wasn’t miserable when I decided to stop drinking.
And I wasn’t desperate for a fresh start or trying to "fix" myself.
So I decided to take three months off drinking.
Which has now turned into 725 days and counting LOL.
Because I realised I didn't miss drinking at all.
What I missed was connection.
Laughing until my face hurt.
Feeling part of something.
And I could have all that without necking bottles of wine and waking up wondering where my shoes (and dignity) had gone.
The biggest thing wasn’t the drinking itself.
It was learning how powerful it is to stop and ask:
Is this a hell yes or a no?
Which I know sounds a little cliche.
But it’s a fucking banger of a filter for making decisions in all areas of your life.
Let’s say you’re dieting and you have two social occasions in the same week.
So you need to think about food and booze within the context of your diet.
One is a work thing for someone in accounts who you barely know but you have to go along for office politics.
The other is lunch with your besties.
Which one gets the “hell yes” for you to indulge a little more?
Easy, right?
Before you had this filter you might have gone full send on both and regretted it.
But now you’re making conscious, positive choices that keep you on track without living like a monk.
And if this sounds like something you want to do while finally making progress with your fat loss and lifestyle goals…
All in a way that actually fits your real life, your real goals, and your real messy human brain…
That’s exactly what we do inside 1:1 coaching.
And one of our coaches will reach out with next steps.
Big love,
Rachel 🥰
