🟣 Let’s decode “I feel fat”

because this has to stop

Bonjour my succulent little snickerdoodle.

When you’re standing in front of the mirror, tugging at your clothes, scrunching up your face and thinking some version of "ugh, I feel fat today”...

It sucks hard enough to get a golf ball through a fucking garden hose.

Especially when you’re about to head out for food with mates.

You already “feel fat” and you’re going to get “more fat”.

Typing these words makes me feel like I’m giving myself a paper cut on my nipple.

But I bet it sounds familiar, right?

I know it does because this is how our clients talk to themselves when they first come to work with us.

But did you know that when you say you’re “feeling fat” you’re usually feeling…

Tired.
Anxious.
Bloated.
Disappointed.
Overwhelmed.
Stressed.
Defeated.

Your brain just translates all those complex emotions into "fat" because diet culture has trained us to make that leap.

But what if we could decode what's really happening?

This is the lighter version of a sensational masterclass our BYB Members got from Harriet & Sophia đź’ś.

Body image isn't one simple thing.

It's actually made up of four elements:

1. How you SEE your body: which is often fucked sideways by mood, lighting, what you've eaten, if you’ve been pooping, etc.

2. How you THINK about your body: again, this has been given a rogering by the stories and beliefs you've built up over time.

3. How you FEEL about your body: and the emotions that get triggered around this.

4. How you ACT based on those thoughts and feelings: avoiding photos, cancelling plans, starting a new crash diet, etc.

Your body will change throughout your life.

Because that's what bodies fucking do.

They age, they fluctuate, they get sick, they heal, they change shape.

If your entire self-worth is tied to how your body looks on any given day, you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment.

Imagine if one bad body image day didn't spiral into a terrible body image week.

Imagine if you could just... feel it, name it, and move the fuck on.

This is what we do for our clients.

Building a relationship with your body that isn't based solely on how it looks, but on what it can do, how it feels, and most importantly – the life it allows you to live.

Your body is the vehicle that carries you through this one precious life.

And spending that life at war with it is a tragic waste of the journey.

You deserve to feel at home in your body, whatever shape or size it happens to be.

And trust me when I say this – it is absolutely possible to get there.

This is always a HUGE focus in every BYB intake.

And if you want to make sure you’re part of the next one at the end of this month…

Make sure you keep a close eye on your emails over the next two weeks.

Big love,
Rachel 🥰
