🟣 My take on “damage control” diets

can you guess what it is? 👀🤔

Well if it isn't my saucy little Brussels sprout! 🌱

Christmas is 6 weeks away.

So it makes sense that the "damage control diet" knob heads are starting to pipe up AGAIN!

You know the ones I mean.

Some twat harping on about christmas food swaps.

Or showing you how to "earn" your Christmas dinner.

It's fucking BRUTAL.

Since when did Christmas become a bloody emergency that needs “damage control”?

When did enjoying a mince pie become something we need to "prepare" for?

Why are we being made to feel like we need a strategic bloody action plan for eating a turkey dinner?

And the irony wrapping around all this fuckery is the real damage isn’t coming from the food you'll enjoy this Christmas.

It's coming from this toxic mentality that's turning the "most wonderful time of the year" into a month-long anxiety attack about food.

It's the stress of trying to "prepare" your body for the festive season.

It's the guilt that creeps in when you're trying to enjoy time with your family.

It's the fear that somehow enjoying Christmas means throwing away all your progress.

What a load of absolute bollocks.

You don't need a pre-Christmas diet.

You don't need to earn your enjoyment.

You don't need to treat December like it's a fitness crisis.

What you need to do is this…

Enjoy Christmas.

Accept you’re going to be indulging more.

Keep up your steps and workouts as much as you can.

When you’re not celebrating or socialising stick to your “regular” diet.

I know that “regular” means different things for different people.

But the general point I’m making here is eat your protein, control your portions and maybe don’t have a box of celebrations for breakfast?

Because I promise you one thing:

The only damage being done here is to your relationship with food, your mental wellbeing, and your ability to enjoy what should be a proper magical time of year.

Big love,

Rachel 🥰
