🟣 Nothing hits like festival grass
(how I ended face down in a field)
The year is 2024 and I am face-down-arse-up in a field in Donington.
And NO it wasn’t in a wavy ‘I can hear colours’ kind of way
But, in a ‘my vertebrae has dropped out of my arsehole’ kind of way
Honestly, one sneeze and the knees would have imploded.
And lads… it was only day bloody THREE out of FIVE at Download Festival. Embarrassing.
Especially because I had spent roughly 11 months previous counting down to this weekend…
Telling anyone who’d listen that Download is the single greatest weekend in the British calendar, squaring up to punch the tit of anyone who tried to argue otherwise
(I’d still punch the tit of anyone who dare insult dear Donny)
Because nothing beats that first cold beer after you’ve set up camp
With 5 whole days of sleeping under the stars with the whole festival in front of you
Knowing you’re surrounded by a stunning group of people who’re there to switch off from the outside world, tune into heavy jams and get hectic in the mosh pits
It’s impossible to beat.
(And don’t just agree because I threatened to punch you in the tit)
That fateful summer back in 2024 I’d SO been looking forward to it. But there I was, day three, napping through sets
In my defense, the rain and mud situation was brutal
I remember thinking how Shrek must have buns of steel with all that swamp stompin because after just 72hrs, my body had given up entirely
So much so I pretty much missed half of the Sunday line-up, headliner included
And bloody hell, it IRKED me
When I was face down in the field on day three, I swore to myself: never-a-fucking-gain-Rachel.
Cut to 2025 - and I was prepared
I’d locked in with my training and built up the step tolerance of a fucking mule. Every time it rained, on a stomp I went - every moist 10,000 steps a reminder that I was never going to miss another Download headliner ever again.
And last year?
No fucking rain (yay)
But better yet, no foot, knee or back protests & a weekend ticket that was maxed out.
Dream itinerary? Completed it mate, no skips.
This year I want to share my wisdom with my fellow field frolickers. So I’m sharing the goods with my programme, GET MOSH PIT READY
A fresh 8 week training phase that focuses on strength, endurance and mobility meaning you can Arnie your way through festival season like a bionic camping and moshing machine
This program is about committing to 8 weeks of progressive training and step work so that when you’re four pints deep and your favourite band comes on?
You have it in you to get in the mix rather than having to tap out and find a camping chair 400m back
Because no one wants to be in the camping chair when Linkin Park are doing their thing
So if you’ve not joined the Bits App yet - this is a wicked opportunity to give it a go for just £11.99 for the 8 week program
And if you’re heading to Download specifically? You will get a secret link to an online community to get buzzed for the festival in advance, share unsolicited opinions about the lineup, and hype each other up as you work through the programme
Now, this isn’t the full membership.
The full membership gets you a full integrated calorie tracker, nutrition course and other programs to pick from. So if you’re looking to combine a fat loss goal with your program? You’ll want to sign up to the Bits App.
Do that here ya legend:
Live long and mosh forever,
Big love
Rachel x
P.S. Downloaders… Meetups are also in the mix + arranging some fucking cool prizes. So make sure you’re joining the community to get involved!
P.P.S We close access to this program AND community next Friday. Don’t want last minute people trying to cram 8 weeks of training in 5 weeks and actually breaking their back before we hit the fields. So make sure you’re getting in before then for all the fun!
