🟣 The tea on exercise selection

you won’t believe this 👀🫖

What's shakin', you delicious little donut 🍩

So I posted a video the other day about exercise selection.

And I wanted to go deeper on it.

Share the thoughts rattling around this weird brain of mine.

Because this could be a HUGE “AHA” moment for you.

Did you know that every single exercise is made up?

There are no squat trees or bench press bushes growing in the wild.

At some point in history, some sweaty gym bro was wiggling about with weights and thought, "Hey, this feels pretty good. Let's call it a thing!".

Like some dude called George Hackenschmid is credited with inventing the bench press in 1898.

He literally wiggled onto the floor and pressed a bar up.

Completely made up.

Along with his second name, he sounds like a Harry Potter character.

Anyway…

You've probably seen a billion "must-do" exercises for those peachy glutes and leg gains.

But here's the tea 🫖

There are a hundred different ways to get the same killer results.

Because when you strip away all the fancy names and Instagram-worthy poses, exercises all do one thing:

They put stress on your body (the good kind) that forces it to change.

But sometimes your body just isn't built for certain exercises.

Take chest-supported dumbbell rows, for example.

If you've got big old bazongas, doing these feels like you've got two highly pressurised hot air balloons about to explode in your face.

It's like trying to do a plank with two airbags ready to deploy under you.

Not exactly a zen workout experience, is it?

So, what's a girl to do?

1. Ditch the "must-do" mindset when it comes to exercises. Your body, your rules.

2. Focus on movements that feel good and challenge you.

3. Remember: consistency trumps perfection every damn time.

The key is finding what works for YOU.

Maybe traditional squats make your knees feel like they're staging a revolt. That's cool!

There are about a million other ways to build those legs and booty without feeling like you're being tortured.

Because the only "must-do exercise" in fitness is showing up for yourself.

Big love,

Rachel 🥰
