🟣 The bumhole on a bus dilemma
in deepest, darkest Vietnam...
Well hello there you saucy little scallop!
A few years back I buggered off travelling around the world.
And I found myself on a bus in Vietnam with food poisoning.
Now, this wasn't your standard "oh I feel a bit queasy" situation.
This was DEFCON 1 level gut chaos.
My bumhole was twitching like a rabbit's nose.
And the driver appeared to be in training for his Formula 1 debut.
Because this lunatic was throwing this bus around like a porn mag in a prison.
And as you can imagine, the roads weren’t exactly paved with smooth tarmac.
For hours on end I had to clench so hard I think I developed abs on my arse cheeks.
The panic.
The fear.
The sheer bloody determination not to create an international incident.
I still remember it all vividly.
Know what it reminds me of?
Every single person I've ever spoken to who's following some batshit crazy diet.
That same panic when someone suggests going out for dinner.
That fear when there's a birthday cake in the office.
That white-knuckle determination to stick to a plan that's about as sustainable as a chocolate fireguard.
Here's the difference though:
I HAD to stay on that bus.
Unless I fancied a lovely trek through the jungle where I’d of been a walking, talking lunch for something big and scary with 1,000 teeth.
But you can get off the diet bus whenever you want.
And guess what?
There's a much better bus waiting for you.
One that:
Doesn't make you clench with fear at social events
Actually stops when you need it to
Won't leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere
Has snacks
It's called the Team Henley Express (okay, that was proper cheesy, but I'm committed to this metaphor now).
And we've got a seat saved just for you whenever you’re ready.
But the one thing I want you to take away from this is you can stop doing the things that are making you miserable in your fitness journey.
You don’t have to suffer to get results.
You can and should be thriving as you see the changes you want to see.
Big love,
Rachel 🥰
P.S. In case you're wondering - yes, I made it to the next stop.
But my dignity? That's still somewhere on a Vietnam back road... 😅
