🟣 The Plan Isn’t The Problem

This is the REAL devil

Happy Monday my lil baked bagel

The last 8 weeks nearly saw me put my dad up for adoption

He offered to help me ā€œengineerā€ my fence in time for a party this weekend

And by ā€œengineerā€, I mean he’s been measuring

Re-measureing

Then assessing the next day if he needs to measure again

Every time we thought he’d cracked it, something didn’t quite line up

So for 8 weeks we were stuck. No fence. Just endless planning.

Maybe I’m inpatient but I got fucking bored of twiddling my thumbs.

So I grabbed some wood and got screwing.

(head out of the gutter ya filthy minx, we’re chattin fencing xo)

The first 3 attempts of hitting the angled joins? Useless.

But attempt 4 worked. And actually, worked better than the plan we’d been obsessing over.

Was there wasted time, effort and wood? You bloody bet.

But via fucking about and finding out, I now have a fence

in my Alan Titchmarsh era

I genuinely believe this approach to life is what sees so many people stuck.

Especially when it comes to nutrition and training.

Months are wasted browsing the ā€œbestā€ training plans.

Diets are put off waiting for the ā€œperfectā€ time to start.

Meanwhile weeks go by and nothing fucking changes.

But the filthy little secret is this:

You best figure out what works for YOU by trying. By royally fucking stuffing it up. Then trying again.

Shit doesn’t happen from sitting around, measuring, planning.

That’s just procrastination dressed up as progress.

REAL progress comes from taking messy, imperfect action.
